About CASU
Company profile
Founded in Shanghai in 2017 by DBC Group and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CASU is an advanced-materials innovation company. It works across four areas: high-end chemicals, specialty adhesives, battery materials and high-performance bio-based materials, with a main focus on waterborne binder systems for the cathodes and anodes of power and energy-storage batteries. Its projects start from material interfaces and formulation design and extend through process fit and application evaluation, helping China's innovation in new-energy and new materials develop more sustainably.
Mission
Helping China’s innovation in new-energy and new materials develop more sustainably.
Co-innovate. Engineer material potential into value.
We define problems and move validation forward together with research institutes, international material partners and industrial customers.
Starting from chemistry, we turn material potential into value that can be manufactured and evaluated. That is the meaning behind our motto.
Adhesion, dispersion and even coating are all decided at interfaces. We first understand how materials meet and bond.
A formulation only counts when it stays controllable under real mixing, coating, drying and calendering conditions.
Every conclusion is tied to references, methods and conditions — so it can be checked and scaled.
We bring international material systems, research expertise and the factory floor to the same problem.
CASU has worked with BASF on water-based anode binders for more than five years, connecting international material systems with the needs of battery manufacturing in China.
CASU is an advanced-materials company within the DBC Group ecosystem. Its sister brand BIOTEN focuses on PHA-based paper packaging, while CASU’s bio-based work centers on battery and industrial applications.
